Caorle is a city near Venice (60 km away) and has a population of over 11,000. Caorle is often called "Little Venice". The place owes this name to its small streets, the bell towers and the houses are painted in typical Venetian colors. Particularly noteworthy are the 11th century cathedral and the cylindrical bell tower from 1100 as well as the Madonna dell’Angelo church on the east beach. The place was also known through the writer Ernest Hemingway, who lived in a house on the edge of the Caorle lagoon. Caorle is over 2000 years old. Today tourism on the 15 km long sandy beaches and fishing are the most important economic factors for the place. Caorle offers countless shopping opportunities in the numerous shops in the city center and in the pedestrian zone. In the last few years, well-known fashion companies have been based in the city. Every Saturday there is a weekly market near the exhibition hall in Caorle. This offers a range of clothing, leather goods and food all year round. Heute sind der Tourismus an den 15 Kilometer langen Sandstränden und die Fischerei die wichtigsten Wirtschaftsfaktoren für den Ort. Caorle bietet unzählige Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in den zahlreichen Geschäften der Innenstadt bzw in der Fußgängerzone. In den letzten Jahren sind vor allem bekannte Modeunternehmen mit einer Niederlassung in der Stadt ansässig. Jeweils samstags findet ein Wochenmarkt in der Nähe der Messehalle von Caorle statt. Dieser bietet ganzjährig ein Angebot an Kleidung, Lederwaren und Lebensmitteln.
