During the winter, it was found that No.6 Samson had developed faults on the tender resulting in it being pulled from service. Temporarily, the tender from No.1 Green Goddess would be attached and No.6 would run with that throughout February, but a more permanent solution was found by repainting the former tender of No.2 Northern Chief into Prussian Blue and attaching it to Samson. This day would be its first day of operation with the new tender with the majority of filming based around it and I personally have to say it suits the engine very well, No.10 Doctor Syn would also be out in traffic providing a contrast from its Canadian outline to the British outline on Samson.
