Singer Vehicle Design was founded in 2009 by Rob Dickinson, a former rock musician in the band Catherine Wheel and lifelong Porsche enthusiast, with a singular vision: to reimagine and restore classic air-cooled Porsche 911s with obsessive attention to detail. Based in Los Angeles, Singer became world-renowned for its bespoke restorations of the type 964 generation 911, blending vintage aesthetics with modern engineering, materials, and craftsmanship. Each car is a one-of-one tailored commission, restored from the ground up, often incorporating carbon fiber bodywork, upgraded suspensions, and custom interiors. Dickinson’s ethos — “everything is important” — set a new standard in the restomod world, turning Singer into a cultural icon among car collectors and design aficionados. This particular car is an example of their new "Classic Turbo" services, which are inspired by the legendary 930 Turbo of the '80s. It features a 3.8-liter twin-turbo Mezger engine producing over 500 bhp, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and custom-tuned suspension. The result is a visceral driving experience that honors Porsche’s motorsport heritage while pushing the envelope of modern performance and design. Let Alex Cox, VP of Marketing & Communications at Singer, walk you around the "Fuji Commission" and share the story behind this breathtaking example of craftsmanship and engineering. Huge thank you to Singer for allowing us to showcase this remarkable restoration and for continuing to redefine what’s possible in the world of automotive artistry. —— GET TICKETS TO THE MUSEUM https://www.petersen.org/tickets —— CONNECT WITH US ON SOCIAL MEDIA Like us on Facebook: facebook.com/petersenmuseum Follow us on Instagram: instagram.com/petersenmuseum Follow us on TikTok: tiktok.com/petersen_museum
