This is how I set up a grow tent inside a bedroom when I want the entire room to not smell like weed but utilize all of the space. I simply have a very large charcoal air scrubber sitting outside the tent essentially removing the smell from the entire room. I want to do other things like drying, trimming or keeping a mother plant and a couple puffs. If I’m only scrubbing the air from the grow tent then I cannot clean the remaining air. Window air conditioners for the most part just recirculate the air removing the humidity which holds hot air. I have the air filter going at a much faster rate than the air conditioner. The size of it can be used for 2 5x5 tents to get an idea of how big it is. Since I want the entire room to not stink I just have a fan removing the hot air from the tent to above it. Yes I care about the humidity and the air conditioner constantly removes it. But humidity for a grow this small at high levels will grow mildew in between dark areas against the walls. During flowering the tent is closed and the humidity builds up inside. I only have the fan at the top sucking enough air that the tent walls are sucking in. This allows enough air to get in and keep it cool without sucking away all the humidity. For a tent this small I really don’t care much about humidity. My goal is to keep the tent from not getting hotter than around 84 degrees. I leave about 4 inches above the air conditioner of the window open. Every few days I blow fresh air in from another room since I only have 1 window. Now I have a “grow room” with a lock on it. Whatever I want to do inside of it that smells will be removed for the most part. Putting a rubber seal around the door and something to cover the bottom is important to. For my setup I keep it simple for small grows. 2x4 tent 2x City Picker Grow Boxes 2x Pro Mix Soil 1 Bag of Garden Lime 1 Bag of Organic Fertilizer 2x 4 foot 100 watt HLG LED grow bars “I can do the entire grow with these.” 1x HLG QB648 board with a heat sink and 150 watt driver “this is overkill at this point” I dim everything down. Light timer - 16 hours on for veg. 12 hours on for flowering. 2x exhaust fans 1x large air scrubber “remove cloth covering and wash when dirty” you don’t need to buy a new one. A window air conditioner to keep temps constant. Rubber strips with sticky backing for the door. Something to cover the bottom of the door. A lock. A camera if you’re crazy like me 😝 A thermometer of sorts. PVC, String & Flat top screws to make a SCROG net. Power strips. FYI- The reason True High Pressure Aeroponics produces the largest yields is when it’s referring to the annual grow. With the ability to make larger clones faster in addition to explosive growth Aeroponics allows for another grow to fit into the season. This is how you get the ~21% more growth from Aeroponics when comparing it to other growing methods. I own one of the top Aeroponic companies and will tell you that for small grows that you don’t have clones, veg & flowering constantly happening then you’re not going to get a night and day difference in yield. Whatever method you use for growing that works the best for you will give you the results you’re looking for. Trying to jam a true HPA system into a 2x4 tent for a personal grow is overkill and more work than a hybrid soil system. If you’re using your entire bedroom with clones, veg and flowering happening in different tents, then true HPA systems will work to your advantage. Most likely the closet will now be for clones with bigger tent/tents for the flowering.
