Top Things to Do in Denali National Park

Part 2 of our 10-day Alaskan road trip was Denali, Alaska. We drove the 6 hours from Seward to Talkeetna to Denali in one day with our rental car. Once in Denali, we spent three nights at a low-key family cabin on the river, McKinley Creekside Cabins. We rented from Booking.com and had a great experience! The bakery, lunch, and dinner options were exceptional. We really wanted to hike in the Denali State Park in hopes of getting a prime view of the Denali peak. Starting at the Ermine Hill Trail Head, we hiked up, close to Kesugi Ridge, and then back down. We didn't see the peak but still had a great experience. Round trip 7 mile hike climbing 1,500 ft in elevation. The second part of this trip we decided to pop into the National Park. Most of the time you have to take a group bus in order to explore the National Park. We opted to hike a small 2-mile loop trail on the outskirts of the park. This allowed us to explore the park on foot. On this hike we saw a moose and her two babies. It was an easy hike and worth the trip! The last part of our time in Denali, we signed up for a group zip line tour with Denali Park Zipline. Our guides were the best and we had so much fun. We've been zip lining in many countries and states, it's always at the top of our list! Denali is a chance to experience the last true wilderness, with only one road bisecting the park. Denali is the highest mountain in North America (previously known as Mt. McKinley) and located in the Alaska Range. It's called the last frontier for a good reason.
