Touching Moment When Children Show Gratitude To Officers For Saving Them

DETROIT, MICHIGAN - DPD (Detroit Police Department) released 9-1-1 call and body cam footage of a touching moment when children show gratitude to officers saving them. A Detroit woman called 9-1-1 and told the dispatcher that she and her two children were hiding in an upstairs bedroom and needed help right away. She was afraid that her husband would hear her calling the police, so she whispered, telling the dispatcher that he had two guns and he said that he was going to kill them and he was not going to go to jail. A team of Detroit police officers surrounded the family's home and were determined to stop him. When the woman inside the house began to scream, officers forced entry into the house. While inside, they spotted the man assaulting his wife, but they couldn't shoot him as there was a child on his back, trying to get him to stop hurting his mother. After the man was secured, officers went upstairs and one of the officer's body cams captured the touching moment when the children showed gratitude to the officers for saving them. The mother of the children was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
