Taking on the role of Simon Templar this time around was Hugh Sinclair (the first of two big screen performances as The Saint in this film and in The Saint Meets the Tiger a couple years later, eventually Sinclair would pass the reins to Louis Hayward (the first actor to take on the coveted role back in 1938 with The Saint in New York. Actress Sally Gray reprises her role here as Mary Langdon a character she played once before in The Saint in London (1939) starring then alongside actor George Sanders who played Simon Templar in five previous films. Trivia - American company RKO decided to form a British Company to utilize funds frozen by the British government because of the "Films Act," which limited money taken out of the country to 50% of revenues earned from American films distributed in Great Britain. The Saint's Vacation was the first film made using those frozen funds and the seventh of nine classic RKO movies featuring Simon Templar, The Saint.
