If you want to be an artist, or if you are an artist looking to level up, one of the best things you can do is find yourself an artist community. And not just an artist community, but a group of like minded artists who are about at your skill level that are actively working on things similar to you. It’s just so hard to be an artist, that you’re going to need to do everything you can, and a community of people is going to be such an asset to you. Having an artistic community of people that aren’t at your level or aren’t taking art as seriously as you is fine, but you also need the one where people are those things. I had taken my comedian community for granted, until I talked to a friend in the LA songwriting community, which just doesn’t have the same things that the comedy scene has. Then I realized most arts don’t have this built in community, but that everyone would benefit just like the comedians have.
