Rainwater Only Mediterranean Permaculture

https://www.johnkaisner.com/ Our Zone 3 Food Forest here on the island of Sicily (USDA Zone 10a) is a rainwater only site. This means that we irrigate our 150+ young trees, during the 5 months of dry we experience each Summer here in the Mediterranean, using only the rainwater that we have caught and stored on the land over the Winter. Additionally, due to the intense levels of bureaucracy here in the Messina area, we've been obliged to do this without the aid of rooftops or structures of any kind. That's where this project gets interesting and unique. There are very few sites modern sites in the world that are currently able to accomplish this, in a climate similar to our own.
