It is the biggest counterfeiting operation ever discovered in a country more notorious for its illegal trade in cocaine. VOICE-OVER: 0003 In a banana plantation, up a flight of stone steps and into an underground room. It's the last place you'd expect to find a sophisticated counterfeiting operation. But that's exactly what Colombian police and U-S Secret Servicemen did discover on Wednesday. 0019 It's the biggest and most sophisticated counterfeiting operation ever uncovered in Colombia, complete with lithographic printing machines, guillotines for cutting up the money sheets and drying racks. 0030 There was even the last batch of product this money factory produced - 3 million dollars in fifties and hundreds 0037 Police General Alfonso de Arellano said he believed the operation had been operating for around ten years. The money, he said, was destined for the United States and Ecuador. 0048 All in all, it was a successful day for the Colombian police. On Wednesday night they announced they had busted an international drugs ring. Police seized more than 265 kilos of heroin in the operation and 12 people were arrested in several Colombian cities.
