The city is approximately 9 kilometers southeast of "Oslo Airport" (Gardermoen). "Jessheim" has 23,918 inhabitants as of 1 January 2023 and has been among the fastest growing in Norway from 6,400 inhabitants in 1990. The railway with the railway station "Jessheim station" was built in 1854 as part of the main line from "Oslo" to "Eidsvoll". The "E6" runs west of the city and was completed as a four-lane motorway in 1977. The distance to Oslo is 41 km along this road, and along the railway, it is 45 km. "Jessheim" is today a center for trade and regional service functions in "Upper Romerike" with a large concentration of shops in "Jessheim Storsenter" by "Jessheim station". In terms of industry, mention can be made of the cement goods factory, which utilizes the sand and gravel deposits in the district, and a wood goods factory. "Jessheim" has a cinema and theater in "Ullensaker Kulturhus", located in the center of "Jessheim". Films, theatre, dance, and other cultural events are shown every week.
