Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee will continue to serve as the party’s national general secretary. The decision was taken at the first meeting of the newly formed national working committee of the TMC on Friday. There will be no change in Abhishek Banerjee's designation in the party. This comes amid reports of a growing rift between Abhishek Banerjee and his aunt and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee. Last week, Mamata Banerjee had dissolved the party's national office bearers' committee, which included her nephew Abhishek Banerjee, and formed a 20-member working committee as rumours of dissent in the ranks blew wide open.
