Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. The work on the cross was great - but it was also excruciating, horrendous and cruel - especially for a Holy God who did no wrong. The beauty in the cross is that Jesus did that all for us.
