Try the interactive tutorial, or download the Sheet music here: https://musescore.com/kagamicovers/su... This is something quite different from what I usually do here on MuseScore, but I thought it would be interesting to try it out (and I'm very pleased with the result myself). Although piano has been my main instrument throughout my life since I was a child, I used to play koto (琴), a 13-stringed harp-like native Japanese zither. This song was composed by Tadao Sawai (沢井忠夫), one of the most famous contemporary koto composers. It was composed in March 1973 for a koto duet, which I have transcribed for piano. This piece is interesting to me, as it combines both classical (the 60 bpm theme starting at m. 61 and its refrain) and contemporary (the rest of the piece) styles of koto music in one piece. I didn't arrange this song by ear, like most of my other pieces, but rather transcribed the raw koto sheet music into MuseScore and changed it to Western (standard piano) notation. A lot of the techniques used on koto are impossible to replicate on piano, but I tried my best to replicate the intended sound where I could not replicate the intended playing technique. I will probably do more of these types of scores in the future. As mentioned before, I have tried to make this piece readable and sound true to the original, but not everything may be playable for the solo pianist. I highly recommend you check out the original song on koto, I found a performance of it here: • TUGMA Koto Ensemble | Sunae (砂絵) , it will give you a much better feel of the piece.
