Presented as part of Riwaq Al Fikr – ADMAF Talks, in partnership with NYU Abu Dhabi, ADMAF presented Christo and Jeanne-Claude in the UAE: Friendship and Legacy at Abu Dhabi Art on 19 November. The discussion brought together Ingrid Jochheim, private collector of Christo’s work, Vladimir Yavachef, Christo’s nephew, successor and Director of Operations, and Emily Doherty, Director of the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Award, in conversation with Fabio Piano, Interim Vice Chancellor of NYU Abu Dhabi. The session offered a rare opportunity to reflect on Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s four-decade relationship with the UAE, their enduring artistic legacy and the profound influence of their vision on generations of emerging artists, including through the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Award, established in partnership with ADMAF and NYU Abu Dhabi to nurture young talent across the nation. The Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation’s participation at Abu Dhabi Art 2025 underscored its mission to nurture cultural engagement, education, and creativity, offering a vital platform for community-driven artistic expression at one of the region’s foremost art fairs.
