When a message relay station receives a message with a typographical or other error present, what should the operator do? Should you fix it before sending it? Remember, your job as a relay station is to relay. Send exactly what you receive: word for word, letter for letter, and that also means typo for typo. The Originating Station works with the author to get the message in the form for transmission. An operator there may ask the author whether a word is correct, and even offer suggestions for phrasing for clarity and brevity. Even the originating station operator, however, needs the author to agree before putting the message on the air. Relay stations take messages and send them exactly as they receive them. Delivery stations take messages and get them in a form that the addressee will understand, with the message intact, exactly as received (subject to expansion of numbered radiogram text, handling instructions, and so on).
