In this video, we’re going to demystify a term you’ll hear constantly in cybersecurity: the CSIRT, or Computer Security Incident Response Team. Think of this lesson as building your “mental org chart” for incident response—who shows up, what they do, and why it’s so important that the team is defined before an incident hits. In the real world, breaches don’t fail because people don’t care—they fail because people don’t know who’s in charge, decisions get stuck in email threads, evidence gets overwritten, and communication becomes chaotic. A CSIRT prevents that by giving you a planned, repeatable, accountable way to respond. We’ll start with a clear definition of a CSIRT and how it differs from a SOC. Then we’ll talk about the value: reducing damage, downtime, and confusion, and improving recovery and learning. Finally, we’ll walk role-by-role through a practical CSIRT lineup—from incident command, to forensics, to legal and communications—so you can picture how this works in a real organization. ===== video Script https://adventuresinsecurity.com/scri...
