Patty Hearst, granddaughter of American publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst, was kidnapped by a leftist militant group called the Symbionese Liberation Army, in Berkeley, California on February 4, 1974. She sent a series of recordings and demands from the group for her release. Then, on April 15, 1974, she appeared in a bank during a hiest by the SLA. Video footage showed her as an active participant, shouting orders. Her antics were an international sensation, making her a household name in the 1970s. She sent a new tape declaring that her name was now Tania and she was fighting in solidarity with the SLA. She was declared a wanted party, alongside her captors and was later convicted for her role in the SLA. Her prison sentence was commuted by U.S. President Jimmy Carter and she was later pardoned by President Bill Clinton. The Mob Reporter brings you real-life Mafia, police and true crime videos.
