This story is about a king's ears and the mysterious happening related to them. Once upon a time, there was a king. This king had a bad problem, but he could not tell anyone about it. Suddenly one day, the king's ears began growing, be- coming as big as donkey's ears. Every morning for three days straight, when he woke up he discovered that his ears had become bigger. When he went to sleep again and woke up, his ears were bigger still. For the sake of this tale, that is whenever he looked in the mirror, he could see that his ears were too big, so big about the size of it, because his ears did not grow anymore after that. However, that he was afraid nobody would know whether he was a person or a donkey. He felt uncomfortable because his ears had grown, but his biggest worry was that people became aware of it. He thought that he should be esteemed by the people because he was king. However, if his ears were this big- key's-he would not be respected. Everyone would likely laugh at his ears, so he did not go outside. He stayed inside a room with the excuse that he was sick, and prevented anyone from entering, but he could not live like this for the rest of his life, so he had to think of something. He called a man who made hats into his room. This hatter was very famous for his skill. When the hatter came into the king's room and saw the king's ears, to him they seemed bigger than donkey's ears. He wanted to laugh, but could not do so because he was in front of the king, so he shut his mouth tightly and fell down prostrate. "Why did you call me, King?” the hatter asked. "Make a big hat as soon as possible. It should be big enough to cover my ears entirely. And do not tell anyone that my ears are like this. If someone finds out about my ears, I will catch you and cut your throat, because you are the only one who knows that my ears are like this, except for me.” So, the hatter made a very big hat and gave it to the king. When the king wore the hat, it seemed bigger than his head, but you could not see his ears, so the king said that he was no longer sick and left his room. People saw the king wearing his hat, but they did not know that it hid donkey's ears underneath it. They talked about the hat because it was very big.
