🇮🇹 What an amazing evening over at the Italian Embassy!!! After 2 years of the pandemic, it was such a pleasure to gather in person to celebrate our 2022 Gala. Our heartfelt thanks go to the Embassy of Italy Italy in US, their precious collaboration and support, and to Ambassador Mariangela Zappia, who opened the night with a welcoming speech, a beautiful reflection on the impacts of language education. Guests enjoyed an aperitivo in the Embassy’s lovely gardens before our Master of Ceremonies took the stage. Many thanks to Amy Riolo, who led our Gala with her beautiful words on the important role of Italian culture in the US, specifically in the fashion industry. We celebrated the career of our Honorary Guest, Domenico De Sole (Former CEO of the Gucci Group and Chairman of Tom Ford) who revolutionized the world of fashion in America. In an intriguing conversation with Sara Gay Forden (author of House of Gucci), De Sole described his journey of growth in the industry beginning with his childhood in Calabria and leading up to his involvement with the prestigious Gucci Group. Many thanks Sara Gay Forden and to Domenico and Eleanor De Sole for making Gala 2022 so memorable. Heartfelt thanks to Carola Mamberto for her outstanding video tributes to Domenico De Sole, and to Antonella Ciancio for the ICS video and photographs of the evening.
