Moreover, the creation of two shipyards on Eleusina’s coastal line was a dominant factor for its final form. Huge ships and building facilities were standing for years impairing and polluting the whole environment. Nowadays, the municipality of Eleusina runs a master plan for the port’s reconstruction and it have taken important measures for the pollution reduction.
