To be given the option to shake off the brainwashing in Vegeta's Wicked Heart, players will need to complete the Preparing for the World Tournament episode (Battle with Trunks (Kid) on the default difficulty setting while taking minimal damage. Unlike other alternative objectives in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, this one isn't made obvious on the episode select screen, as Preparing for the World Tournament does not have the green crossroads symbol next to it like most of the other episodes with secondary objectives do. The best strategy for beating Trunks is to start the fight with a smash combo to give time to charge 1 skill meter and then go into Sparking Mode. You dont need to take all Trunks' life bars just 3 out of 5 bars quickly and the match will end. If done correctly, Vegeta will bring the training to an end and the pair will share a brief moment in base form.
