Today’s video is all about block printing with two or more colours. I have chosen a block printed flower design with 3 colours for this tutorial. Adding colour to your block printing creates a more visually interesting outcome. I start this video by showing you my design idea and carving the third lino block. I mix up new colours for this idea and I will print two different colour-ways to see which one I prefer. Colour theory and mixing new colours is one of my favourite things to do - I think it is a very relaxing task. I will also be going through a simple repeat pattern for this tutorial. I will walk you through each step of working out where to place your blocks from start to finish. My next video will cover more measured repeat patterns that will add movement to your final block printed fabric. It will include the brick repeat pattern & half drop repeat pattern and possible some others.
