How to Take Levothyroxine Correctly (Why You're Doing it WRONG)

Levothyroxine will only work if you are actually taking it the correct way! Not taking it correctly means that it won't do its job and you will end up right back where you started with symptoms like weight gain, fatigue, hair loss, constipation, and more. The good news? These tips and tricks will help you so that you don't have to worry about this problem! And as you go over these tips I bet you will find that many of them you never heard about. Let's get started: Tip 1. Make sure you take your levothyroxine away from all supplements and all medications by at least 30-60 minutes. This rule is even more strict with calcium and iron supplements. If you are taking either of those then you should wait 4 hours. Tip 2. Make sure you take your levothyroxine at the same time each and every day. Tip 3. Make sure to take it away from food by 2-4 hours. It takes around this time for your stomach to empty. Tip 4. Do your best to NEVER miss a dose. Tip 5. Always take levothyroxine WITH water. Bonus Tip 1. If you are taking two types of thyroid medications then you can take them both together. Bonus Tip 2.
