The new church of Trasquera (Verbania) was built in the 16th century on the border between Italy and Switzerland, built in a strategic position on the imposing rock ridge dominating the entire valley. The only part that remained of the old medieval building was the bell tower, built in the traditional Romanesque style in the 12th century and raised in 1900 when new bells were added. The tower has five bells that can be completely rung by hand by bellringers, cast in 1927. The concert is pitched in F sharp major. f' sharp - g' sharp - a' sharp - b' - c'' sharp The five bells are rung on Christmas Eve, with Christmas carols and merry music to accompany people's lives. Keyboard ringing is traditional and is performed by striking a real wooden keyboard, which when struck produces the sound of the bell composing melodies. The building is largely surrounded by a large cemetery, which overlooks the valley below. The church is named after two military saints, in memory of the distant past when the entire territory was subject to frequent invasions by enemies. The church was initially built in 1100 and was already well attended in 1321, the year in which all residents were required to light a candle on the feast day. The church contains a good number of valuable works of art from the Baroque period.
