Shriram Finance has approved raising Rs 39,617 crore from Japan’s MUFG Bank through a preferential issue, marking the largest foreign investments in India’s financial services sector. The board cleared the issuance of 47.11 crore equity shares at ₹840.93 apiece to MUFG Bank, which will translate into a 20% minority stake in Shriram Finance on a fully diluted basis.
