Lap Details: • Lap Time: 3:05.48 min (0.58 sec slower than my 3:04.90 lap). • Car: 100% Stock Porsche 992 GT3. • Tires: Michelin Cup2R (Left front tire performance dropping significantly by this lap). • Setup: Alignment by Manthey-Racing. • ESC/TC: ESC OFF, TC ON (to preserve rear tires). • Data Logging: Porsche Track Precision App via CarPlay (10Hz GPS, real speed and data). Track & Conditions: • Track: Gotland Ring – Sweden’s most challenging 7.3 km GP track. • Often compared to a smaller version of the Nürburgring Nordschleife due to its complexity and speed. • Tire Management: • Ran a total of 3 warm-up laps (~3:13 min pace) and 3 attack laps with short breaks in between. • Tires driven to the track, used for all laps, and driven home—no trailer, just pure driving. Reflection on the Lap: • Performance Drop: • Cleaned up driving compared to the 3:04.90 lap. • Despite adjustments, lap was slower due to the left front tire degrading. • Lost additional time (~3:09 min into the video) when adjusting the GoPro. • Warm-Up Routine: • No consecutive attack laps—warm-up laps at a slow pace before each push lap. • Total driving for this session included 2 prep laps for tire pressures, 3 warm-ups, and 3 attack laps. • Car Setup: • Stock brake pads, brake fluid, and Cup2R tires. • Manthey-Racing’s setup is exceptional, making the stock car feel dialed in.
