It’s not that the carts want to be super light because we have a minimum weight to weigh in at at the end of a race of 218 kg including the driver, this gives other people who are larger than 75 kg to be able to be competitive as they lighter guys often have to put lead on to make the weight. So it's because we want to keep weight down when and where we can, as well as keep the Superkart less cluttered, the less equipment on the Kart the better.
