#daultala #gujarkhan #pothohar Daultala I City of Ruined Havelis I Mythical Town of Pothohar I Narrowly Escaped Destruction in 1947 Special Thanks: Sheikh Irfan Younus, UAE/Daultala Muhammad Khurshid, Ex Chairman, Union Council, Daultala Mian Muhammad Arshad, Daultala Muhammad Ali (Please subscribe his channel @Explorewithalibhai) Music: Binu Kumar, Kerala, India @SoundSFX (Under License) Daultala (دَولتالہ), is a town and union council located in Gujar Khan Tehsil, Rawalpindi District, Punjab, Pakistan. It is 33 km from Gujar Khan and 26 km from Mandra. Anecdotal stories related to the attribution of Daultala by some local people are common, but there is no historical evidence for them. It was one of the prominent towns in the era of Sher Shah and Mughal emperor Akbar. This town had to be destroyed several times by the merciless hands of time. History does not mention its initial settler, nor is it known how many times this town was destroyed. Raja Daulu Khan or Raja Daulat Khan brought the Zamindars, Nagyals, Gujjars, farmers and Hindu traders and settled here. The people of the surrounding area named it after Raja Daulu Khan Pakhral and started calling it Doloala, which changed to Dolowala and then Daultala in different periods. It was also called Daultala Khalsa during the Sikh period, later the Muslims wiped out the Khalsa along with it. After Raja Daulu Khan, his son Raja Sher Jang became the owner of Daulata when he got Jagir from his wife Mehr un-Nisa so he migrated there because his father-in-law Mansab Dar Raja Sher Ali Pakhral had no male heir. At the time of Sher Jang, Daultala was written as Jandala Bhakdal in the papers. After Raja Sher Jang, Daultala was captured by Mujassam Khan Gujar, who started harassing the residents here. Fearing his atrocities, people started migrating from here. Baba Shah Kamal a saint of his time cursed him so he remained childless. After that, Sohdra tribe and Syeds settled here. In 1892, on the instructions of Sardaran Sandanwalia in the Sikh era, the Daraugha e Jang gave Daultala the status of a Zail and handed it over to Harnam Singh, a Sikh. Among the ancient tribes in Daultala are Nagyal, Dhamyal, Lohdra, Syed, Gujjar Kataria, Gujjar Kisana, while others nations settled here later. While after the establishment of Pakistan, a large number of immigrants came and settled here. Along with the Gujjar family, the Syeds have been settled in Daultala since ancient times. Locally, it is said that the ancient times, there was a fort-like place near the old mosque in the inner city, where the Syed family lived and was commonly called the Syed's fort. Even today, this place is the highest place in the city but there is no historical evidence is present about this fort. Due to its historical and geographical location, Daultala is a very important town of Gujar khan Tehsil. Its central position can also be estimated from the fact that there are 11 roads leading from all sides of the city. Only one of these roads was built in the middle of the last century. All the other roads are as old as the town. Since a long time, the town has been serving the needs of the people of the surrounding area. From the beginning, railway stations, educational institutes, post offices, hospitals and markets were available here in addition to general necessities and agricultural commodities. Mandi Bazar, a market in the city, became famous due to commercial activities. In 1947, this city narrowly escaped destruction. Atrocities took place, which caused a wave of grief among the Muslims. At that time, there was a majority of Hindu and Sikh population in the inner city, while there was a local Muslim population in the outer city, due to which the situation in the city became very tense, but due to the understanding of the elderly citizens and the timely arrival of the British army, this danger was averted. There was a large pond on the side of the primary school on the eastern side of Daultala city, in which water was collected throughout the year. There were very old banyan trees on its banks, but gradually the ponds and trees spread around the shipper were removed. In this way, a garden of fruit trees spread over several acres in the west of the city. During the Sikh era, the big well located in Daultala city used to meet almost all the water needs of the inner city. With the passage of time, its need and use decreased in importance. However, even today that place is known as 'Chok Bada Kanwan' by the name of this well. Follow us on: Facebook: / gilanilogs1 Twitter: / gilanilogs Instagram: / zulfiqargil. .
