(HPE) is a global company serving an international community. Some of the challenges include different economies, technical requirements and market concerns. Alain Carpentier, VP and GM for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Networking at HPE, joined John Furrier and Dave Vellante, cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE’s Media team, during HPE Discover 2015 in London to explain how he handles the diverse requirements in various countries. A world of differences Carpentier explained that the international market is fragmented; however, the Northern European nations are quick to adopt new technology, whereas the Southern nations lag behind. He also pointed out that there is a large number of emerging projects in the Middle East and South Africa. When discussing the different opportunities in the markets he covers, Carpentier said, “I think they are a different type of opportunities. The workplace was designed for the past world. West Europe is in refresh because more people are working at home,” noting that most of the foreign markets are looking for mobility and a wireless approach to business. Making the move As U.S. businesses move to establish a presence in Europe, Carpentier advised, “There is a different ecosystem in place in Europe, which is why you need to think locally. You can think globally, but you have to be sure that you have an understanding about what has happened in Europe and know that what works in Germany doesn’t work in the U.K. or France and Italy.” He said it is necessary to work close to the market and work with a recognized company like HPE. @theCUBE #HPEDiscover
