IMPORTANT NOTE: this video is out of date because there's now a 100% consistent way to do drainless. The new approach is as follows: 1. Create a save close to the end of the top platform. 2. Walk just off the platform and begin a stomp (such that a straight line down would hit the water). 3. Before the stomp starts moving downwards, press B to open the skill tree and spend a point, then quit and save. 4. On reload, you'll automatically complete the stomp and break the platform. One more thing: with the new approach, save point placement isn't as precise. The save point doesn't need to be in midair. Just close enough that you can still open the skill tree directly after starting your stomp. ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: Drainless is a trick that allows you to stomp a platform underwater after escaping Ginso. There are two ways to do the trick. 1. Create a save point in midair above the platform by holding B while running to the side. 2. Exit and reload the game to spawn underwater. 3. While loading, hold down on the D pad and press Y during a one-frame window to stomp the platform. You can either button mash Y or try to time it. If you'd rather avoid the frame-perfect stomp, you can do the following. 1. Make your save point as usual, but jump back up and rekindle on solid ground before exiting. 2. After reloading, press Y and down very quickly to stomp. Note that you can still fail using this method if you're not fast enough. One final note not mentioned in the video. There is a backup strategy to spawning underwater if your initial midair save point isn't far enough to the right. If you mess up the save point, you can walk slightly off the edge, then press B to open the ability tree in midair and spend a point. Doing so will save the game in midair and achieve the same effect. Just be careful that you have an ability point to spare.
