I was exploring the thickest part of the forest here in Bhutan when I stumbled upon something truly remarkable. Tucked away under a dense canopy of leaves, I found a single, open-air honeycomb wrapped perfectly around a small branch. This is the home of the Red Dwarf Honey Bee (Apis florea), known locally in some parts of Bhutan as Ngajum. These tiny "jungle architects" are the smallest honey bees in the world, and seeing their nest in such a "thick" and untouched part of the forest is a rare treat.
