In Genesis 1, humans are depicted as being created "in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." The mission and purpose of humankind were to reflect who God was on earth. They were given the power of creative speech, dominion over creation, and authority to subdue the earth. Mankind was created as God's image as a vessel for His presence. What happens when we lose focus on who we are representing and look elsewhere? The answer is simple and Biblical; we become what we look at. This week we discuss the impact of what it means to be the image of God, what happens when we turn away from that calling, and how being the image of God is more relevant today than ever.
