As the Eastern Black Sea coastal settlement area, Beşikdüzü district is 45 km from Trabzon city center. is at a distance. Being an ancient settlement, Beşikdüzü was mentioned as a port named Liviopolis by the old Plinius in the 1st century AD, and was recorded as a foreman named Livopoli in the Ottoman tahrir books and as Popoli by Evliya Çelebi. The chapels in the Hodala region (today's Bayırköy District) also give an idea about the history of the region. Beşikdüzü is the border with Giresun on the west side of Trabzon. It is a cute settlement with a height of 10 meters from the sea, surrounded by the Vakıfkebir District in the east, the Eynesil district of Giresun in the west, the Black Sea in the north, the Şalpazarı district in the south and partly the Tonya District. According to rumors, the people of Beşikdüzü are the descendants of the Turkmen tribes who came from Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia in the 13th and 14th centuries. When the names of today's villages are taken into consideration, the rumors are proven to be true. For example, Oğuz, Türkelli, Şahmelik, Kalegüney, Anbarlı, Seyitahmet. According to the oldest documents available, we learn that Beşikdüzü was officially established in 1834 with the Edict of Sultan Mahmut II. The District Manager, who was appointed after a short time, started to work with about 30 police officers. Since this director also took care of Vakfikebir and Tonya, which were then sub-districts, he stayed 4 months in each, and initially it was carried out in this way with the civil administration. The end-of-life administration, which lasted until then, fell to official administration. Beşikdüzü was a refuge in Görele district for a while under the name of Şarlı. After leaving here, it was connected directly to the city center of Trabzon as if it was the district center. Even so, it carried out the services of the local administration, especially in the district national education, with its independent and full organization.
