100 Years Old - Happy Birthday to the Manx Grand Prix

At 10am on Thursday 20th September 1923, the flag dropped and Kenneth Twemlow, a 21-year-old motor and speedboat racer from Cheshire, set off from the start line as number 1 for the first ever 'Amateur Motor Cycle Championship Race' - a race that would then become the Manx Grand Prix. 5 laps and a little more than three-and-a-half hours later, the number 12 of Len Randles, riding a 3.5hp 500cc Sunbeam, crossed the finish line to take victory and become the first man to raise the Premier AB Crookall Trophy. 100 years later, the Manx Grand Prix continues to see new names take on the TT Mountain Course for the first time, whilst the greatest road racers in the world race alongside on some of the most iconic bikes in racing history.
