Though Krishna and Balarama defeated his armies each time, the people of Mathura suffered immense destruction and fear. To protect the Yadavas and end further bloodshed, Shree Krishna made a historic decision—to abandon Mathura and establish a new, invincible kingdom. Guided by Garuda, Krishna chose the western coast and reclaimed land from the sea. He then summoned Lord Vishwakarma, the divine architect, who built the magnificent city of Dwarka (Dwaravati)—a golden, fortified capital surrounded by the ocean.
