Watercolour full demo wet in wet Japanese ceramic.

THis video is inspired by a short I saw on instagram where someone painted asian ceramic pieces in watercolour using wet in wet techniques. I decided this would be good to try and maybe use for my watercolour class so I had a go at several different types of pot and finally decided to make a demonstration video to share on youtube and hopefully inspire others to have a go. THe painting is done on unstretched 300gsm watercolour paper using Winsor and Newton artists pigments. THe video begins with short intro and then I show a few of the other examples I did first. Then there is a short explanation of how I do the drawing part, which is largely for my class’s behalf, then the demo begins, and is largely filmed in real time with my narration/ explanation voiced over the top. A few parts are sped up. THe whole painting took about an hour and a quarter real time, including the drawing.
