[This video was recorded at the Good Future Foundation's Stand at BETT UK 2026.] As AI tools enter classrooms at pace, teachers are being asked to make high-stakes decisions in the absence of robust, real-world evidence about what works, for whom, and under what conditions. As the professional body for teachers, the Chartered College of Teaching is working to address this gap. In this session, Sam Evans shared early insights from two DfE-funded initiatives - AI Safe and Effective Use and the EdTech Evidence Board. Together, they highlighted the growing need for clearer evidence standards and shared principles to support responsible AI adoption. Attendees would explore how these developments can help teachers navigate the uncertainty of this moment and strengthen professional confidence in responding to AI.
