There are 17 reels of film from this archive depicting Bellingham Washington and surrounds over a period of about 23 years that starts as near as I can tell in 1934 and ends in 1957. There are 3 parades in old Bellingham as well as city streets, an airfield, an airport, boating and some really great old cars as well as some pretty cool clips of good folks living life in the past. You will also see what I think is a damn being built and although I am fairly sure it is not in the Bellingham area or even in the State I left it in because it is interesting. Maybe someone can let us know where it is. The family lived at 926 16th Street in Bellingham right above Lowell Elementary School on 15th Street. I spent quite some time trying and eventually finding the house using Google Earth as it appears many times throughout the film as does other houses in the neighborhood. I left much of this in because if I lived there I would wish to see the homes and neighbors as they were 80 years ago. There used to be a trolley car that ran on that street. I also left in clips of some places that I could not identify because I am not sure these clips are not relevant to the area or not. As a last note I would tell you this video contains both black and white as well as very early color film. Unfortunately much of the color has deteriorated and is not quite right. Adjustments were made and there was some improvement. CLOSET MEMORIES AND FADED DREAMS Office of Image Archaeology officeofimagearchaeology.com George Mihal
