Labour of Love We removed the heavy-duty Front Runner roof rack — weighing in at 70 kg — with plans to replace it with the slimmer, lighter version in the future. Eventually, we hope to add the Icarus roof conversion too. Taking the roof rack down meant finding a new spot for the Lazer lights, and, as always with a Land Rover, there’s never a shortage of projects. The back door lock wasn’t working, so I checked that too — a known weak point where the wire sometimes breaks. We installed a rear wheel carrier, though in hindsight, a standalone swing-out version might have been better, as the one we chose can eventually strain the back door structure.
