Wild Dogs vs Hyenas In Episode 6 of our 5-week Kruger summer adventure, we’re treated to one of the most unforgettable sightings of the trip: a rare pack of African wild dogs confronting a group of spotted hyenas, right after a leopard casually strolls down the road. This is safari magic in real time — and it all happened around Skukuza in the early morning light. Wild dogs are some of the rarest predators in Kruger National Park. Their presence always brings excitement, but it also raises questions about ethical wildlife viewing — especially when the crowds start to gather. In this video, I also share my personal tips on how to handle big sightings responsibly as a safari guest. Later in the day, we visit historical landmarks near Phabeni Gate, relax at the Skukuza Nursery, and spot a honey badger wandering through camp at night. No matter the heat — which hit 47°C again — Kruger never disappoints.
