Cloverdale Community Kitchen Touches Hearts and Calls for Community Support At our most recent meeting, we had the honour of welcoming Cloverdale Community Kitchen (MyCCK) to present and share the incredible, life-changing work they are doing in our local community. Their presentation left a lasting impact on every single one of us—opening our eyes and our hearts to the very real needs of those experiencing homelessness, hunger, and hardship right in our own backyard. What stood out the most was their unwavering commitment to feeding people with dignity. MyCCK not only serves over 20,000 meals a year, but they also offer mobile food delivery to those unable to access their facility, provide food bank support, and even operate a winter shelter. Every single day, they show up for our community with compassion, consistency, and care. But with the growing number of unhoused individuals and families in need, they can’t do it alone. They’re currently in urgent need of volunteer drivers to help deliver meals and hampers—an essential part of keeping their programs running smoothly and reaching those who need it most. We were also inspired by their creative vision for how more of us—especially local schools, youth groups, and community organizations—can pitch in. They’re encouraging school cooking classes, community groups, and even families to get involved by baking cookies, preparing meals, or helping with food drives. It’s a simple yet powerful way to bring people together, build empathy, and make a tangible difference in someone’s life. If you're looking for a way to give back or involve your kids, school, or team in something meaningful, this is it. A tray of cookies, a couple of hours delivering meals, or organizing a class cooking day—these small acts of kindness add up in a big way.
