About this Episode: In this Episode, I have compared the State Amendments brought to the Hindu Succession Act, 1956 (by Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Karnataka), and it's conflict with the Central Amendment made to the Hindu Succession Act, 1956, made in the year 2005 - All dealing with the same subject - Coparcenary rights of daughters. As per the State Amendments, the daughters had to be unmarried, and the Joint Hindu Family Property must remain unpartitioned on the date of the Amendments coming into force. But as per the Central Amendment, both married and unmarried daughters are coparcenars, with the only condition that the property must not have been partitioned before a cut off date given in the Amendment itself.
