(3 Dec 1995) Natural Sound Yigal Amir, the self-confessed killer of Israeli Premier Yitzhak Rabin, appeared in a Tel Aviv magistrates court Sunday, claiming that one of Rabin's bodyguards was involved in the conspiracy to assassinate the Prime Minister. The court extended Amir's detention by four days, after investigators presented a secret document to the court which they said could change the nature of the charges. Rabin's self-confessed assassin Yigal Amir was brought to court by police, who say they are following a new direction in their investigations. They presented a secret document to the judge, which they claim could change the nature of the charges. Investigators were granted the right to detain Amir for a further four days. The Jewish law student is accused of murder, attempted murder, illegal weapons manufacture and possession of a firearm. In court Amir claimed to have information that "would turn the country upside down". He suggested one of the murdered Prime Minister's bodyguards may have been in on the plot. One of the rumours circulating in Israel in the wake of the assassination claims one of Rabin's bodyguards has been killed, but there has been no official statements or evidence to support the claim. A government spokesman dismissed Amir's claims as "nonsense." Asked by a reporter if he would carry out the assassination again, Yigal Amir answered: "Yes." The judge also ordered a four-day extension of the detention of Hagai Amir, Yigal's brother, who is believed to have supplied the bullets that killed Rabin. Yigal Amir shot the Prime Minister last month as he left a peace rally in Tel Aviv. There was heavy criticism of lax security at the rally after the assassination.
