The third single released from The Shipbuilders' second album 'This Blue Earth', 'La Dolce Vita' is a woozy, punchdrunk lullaby, dedicated to all things that make this blue earth sweet. Featuring swooping strings and melodic trumpet, bringing to mind the majestic sounds of Michael Head/Shack & Elbow, 'La Dolce Vita' intoxicates and soothes in equal measures. "I have more than one man deserves on this blue earth..." swoons Matty Loughlin-Day, who says of the track: "I don't often write traditionally 'happy' songs for whatever reason; they all often end up being about natural disasters, drinking, death or all three! But with 'La Dolce Vita', it led me to a very different place, a soothed, contented, almost bewildered place. Taking stock of your lot and almost disbelieving it. It was primarily written about the people and things that I am blessed to find myself surrounded by, but this isn't about any one thing in particular - it's not necessarily about romantic love, or any one ideal, but more about what the ancient Greeks called 'Agape' - that unconditional, hard to define love, that is all encompassing and more than a little bit fantastic. It therefore needed a wide sound, a grand, 'take your breath away' arrangement, which, thanks to Danny (Woodward, Producer) and the musicians we got in, we were able to create and get lost in" 'La Dolce Vita' is released on July 9th, followed by the album 'This Blue Earth' on July 11th, both via Shipwrecked Records
