Hidden Icelandic Waterfalls and Canyons in Thor‘s Valley (Þórsmörk)

In this video I’m showing you some of my favorite hidden Icelandic canyons and waterfalls in Iceland that most visitors to Iceland never see. Þórsmörk, which means Þór’s valley, is home to magnificent natural wonders. And yes, it is named after the Norse God Þór. The hidden places I show you today are just a small part of what Þór’s valley has to offer. One major thing to keep in mind is that most of the places on this list require you to cross rivers, some quite deep and tricky to maneuver, in a car. YOU MUST have a 4x4 car that can handle crossing rivers. If you have never crossed a river in a car before, I don’t recommend trying it here. Please know that if you flood the engine of your rental car, you will be responsible for the full cost of the car because no insurance covers that. Unfortunately, some visitors have found that out the hard way. There are tour guides that take people to Þórsmörk and even bus services, so you can still get there safely.
