Foam Board RC Plane Design Lessons Learned I designed and flew three foam board RC model airplanes that I call the "Lite Ranger" series. All of the planes are made from 3/16" foam board and are ideal projects for beginners. The planes fly great as well! A unique design feature is that the wings are flat with no airfoil nor dihedral. This makes building a bit easier. Note that I incorporate a slight amount of positive incidence on the top wing to aid in flight. Here is a link to my YouTube Channel: / timmckay56 Many thanks in advance for a post of this video on Facebook, it truly helps the channel a lot! The LR 1 is very basic, with a straight fuselage top. The LR 2 has a cabin fuselage with a more narrow profile. The LR 3 is a stagger wing biplane design. It is very easy for anyone taking on this DIY airplane build to make their own modifications, feel free to give it a try! For the planes, I used: Park 250 motor (www.StevensAero.com) 7.5 X 3 prop 2 cell lipo Spektrum AR620 receiver 10 amp ESC Three channels of control (throttle, ailerons and elevator) Chapters 00:00 - Intro 00:27 - Lite Ranger overview 03:00 - Lite Ranger 1 07:02 - Lite Ranger 2 08:30 - Lite Ranger 3 11:10 - Closing thoughts
