Tre Cime Di Lavaredo: The Most Majestic Mountains In The Dolomites - Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Three Peaks of Lavaredo) is a group of three distinctive peaks in the Eastern Dolomites, located in the northeastern part of Italy. These rock formations are situated in the Trentino-Alto Adige region, in the province of Belluno, close to the Austrian border. The Malga Langalm refuge is situated on the southern slopes of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo group. It is located at an altitude of approximately 1,600 meters above sea level. The refuge serves as a popular starting point for tourists and climbers, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. To reach Malga Langalm, you need to first arrive at the nearby town of Dobbiaco (Toblach). From there, continue south along the SS51 road to the parking lot near Rifugio Auronzo. From the parking area, you can hike along the trail towards Malga Langalm, which takes about 1-2 hours. On the other hand, the Dreizinnenhütte refuge (also known as Rifugio Locatelli or Rifugio Lavaredo) is located slightly closer to the Tre Cime rocks, on the western slope. It is another popular starting point for tourists, skiers, and climbers. The refuge sits at an altitude of about 2,405 meters above sea level. To get to Dreizinnenhütte, it is recommended to again reach the town of Dobbiaco (Toblach). From there, you can continue driving south along the SS51 road and then turn left onto the road that leads to the parking area near Rifugio Auronzo. From the parking lot, an easy hike leads to Dreizinnenhütte, which usually takes around 1.5-2 hours.
