IT & Industries Minister has announced that preparations are underway for the groundbreaking ceremony of AI City in Maheshwaram, scheduled to take place in the month of April-2025. Speaking at the inauguration of the Cleartelligence India Delivery & Operations Centre at ITC Kohinoor in Hitech City, the minister emphasized the state’s commitment to sustainable development and the creation of a world-class Future City. He revealed that AI City will be developed in over 200-295 acres with global standards in the Future City, attracting interest from several tech companies. “Telangana aims to become a hub for emerging technologies, competing with other states across India. The state has already launched centers of excellence in Data Analytics and Cyber security and is now preparing to establish a Quantum Computing Center,” he added. Stating that the government’s goal is to position Hyderabad as a Global Technology Hub, Sridhar Babu said that many investors are eager to set up business in Telangana, and the government will extend full support to them. “When industries grow, the state prospers,” he remarked, emphasizing that Telangana’s biggest asset is its talented youth. Moreover, Telangana is set to introduce its first-ever rope way tourism project at Bhuvanagiri Fort, aiming to attract both national and international visitors. The project will be set up under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme at a cost of Rs 56.81 crore. The state tourism department has also invited tenders in this regard. The move is aimed at developing the historic fort, whose significance comes next to Golconda and Warangal forts. A one-kilometre-long ropeway will be constructed from the Hyderabad-Warangal National Highway (NH 165) to the fort, easing access for visitors. Currently, Bhuvanagiri Fort, built on a rock hill, is a popular trekking destination. It takes upto an hour to reach the fort. The new rope way will provide tourists a unique experience, offering them a scenic view along with eliminating the trouble to climb steep stairs. The project also includes restoration of the fort's historical structures, water tank, entry points, roads and parking areas. Overall, Rs 15.20 crore has been allocated for the Bhuvanagiri fort rope way project. This apart, a 30-metre-wide access road and parking facilities will be set up at a cost of Rs 10.73 crore. For, tourism infrastructure and historical restoration, Rs 10.37 crore has been allocated, Rs 9.40 crore has been set aside for undertaking general infrastructure development work and Rs 11.11 crore for other arrangements. The Telangana government has also submitted proposals under the Parvatmala project to the central government for four additional rope way projects. Four more rope ways proposed Yadagirigutta Temple – 2 km, Hanuman Hill, Nalgonda – 2 km, Nagarjunasagar Dam – 5 km Ramagiri Fort, Manthani – 2 km. Once completed, these rope way projects will significantly boost heritage tourism in Telangana, making key destinations more accessible while preserving their historical value.
