Jan Berry's 101 Easy Homemade Products for your Skin, Health and Home is a keeper of a book for any home herbalist! ~*~ Grab the recipe here! ~*~ Infusing Oil ----------------------------------- Using Jan Berry's Quick Method from her book: In a pint jar (or a double boiler) fill it 1/4 of the way with dried Organic Violet Leaf and 1 cup of Organic Coconut Oil. Melt in pot with 1-2 inches of water on med-low heat for 2 hours or more. Making your Lotion Bar ------------------------------------- .08 oz (23 g) mango butter (we used shea butter!) .06 oz (17 g) bees wax .06 oz (17 g) violet leaf infused coconut oil 1/2 tsp. French green clay (optional) Place mango/shea butter, bees wax, infused oil and French green clay in a heat proof jar or double boiler. Heat in 1-2 inches of water until ingredients have melted and blended together. Pour hot oils/butters into a mold and let set until cooled. Quickly wipe out your container before wax melts with paper towels. Rinse with boiling water and wipe clean again before washing with soapy water. Now you have a beautiful, moisturizing lotion bar to help with dry winter skin and red break outs!
